Rana, a mother tiger, and her cubs call Nagarhole National Park in southern India home. Like many tigers in the region, their survival is increasingly threatened by human activities—poaching has decimated their prey, and expanding human settlements have eroded their natural habitat. With fewer than 2,500 Bengal tigers remaining, Rana's struggle is part of a broader crisis. But she's far from defeated. One day, she stumbles upon a clearing teeming with potential prey. Her eyes lock on a solitary Sambar deer that strays from the group, moving toward the woods. Seizing the opportunity, Rana silently takes position in the underbrush, waiting. When the moment is right, she launches a swift attack, catching the deer by surprise. With her quarry secured, she calls her cubs, who eagerly join her in the feast. For the next four days, the family will have enough to sustain them, and they live to hunt another day.
