Former US special counsel Robert Mueller is due to appear before two congressional committees, where he's scheduled to spend five hours answering questions about his investigation and wide-ranging report into Russian interference into the 2016 presidential election and any possible links to the Trump administration. But it's unclear whether the committees will learn more than is already in the public domain - with Mueller saying he plans not to disclose anything that wasn't already in the report he spearheaded. President Trump has claimed the report amounts to a total exoneration for him and his closest associates, but many top Democrats disagree with that assessment. Democrats currently control one chamber of Congress, the House of Representatives, and are using their investigative powers there to look into the president's actions further.
