As an adventurer dedicated to pioneering sustainable travel, Andy completed a two year expedition driving around the world in an old school bus that he salvaged from a scrap yard and which was powered only by used cooking oil. His has also driven a chocolate-powered lorry to Timbuktu in Mali (a world-first carbon negative expedition) and organised the 'Grease to Greece' rally for cars fueled on restaurant scraps.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event.
