the Christian scripture is filled with revered heroes who have informed the faith and sanctification of those who claim to follow Jesus. Yet, on closer inspection of the text, it becomes increasingly clear that some of these heroes of the faith are kind of ... bad people. We're not just looking at this strictly from a modern lens, either; biblical scholars have been pointing out the moral turpitude of some of the Bible's primary players for centuries, and even millennia. Things get even more complicated when you add in the various interpretations and translations of the text. Here are respected people in the bible who actually weren't that great.
