Michael Cairns who is the Vehicle Line Executive for RAM trucks recently gave Autobytel an inside look at the engineering and features of some new technology on the RAM truck line-up.

The 3.0 liter EcoDiesel is a modern diesel engine that is both quiet and refined. The variable geometry turbo coupled with the 8-speed transmission takes advantage of all the torque produced by this diesel engine. The result is best-in-class fuel economy. RAM is also the first company to bring a diesel engine to the light duty truck line-up.

The RAM 2500 get a new 5 link-coil rear suspension that gives a better ride and better handling. This replaces the old leaf spring technology. Now the suspension can absorb the bumps thanks to the coil spring suspension.
