I dedicate this video to my fans and supporters around the globe. Thank you all!
The python’s eggs are only two weeks from hatching. But the torching sun has dried out the woodlands and without any rain, wildfires cause by lightning can erupt at any time now. Wildfires do play an important roll in Florida’s ecosystem but they also incinerates anything in its way. Forcing many terrified animals to abandon its brood in order to escape certain death.
But the python refuses to leave her nest. Courageously defending her eggs by angrily striking at the approaching flames… and sealing her own fate. The wildfire has burned itself out just before reaching the snake’s lair. But she remains on high alert throughout the night. The air is heavy saturated with smoke and the sent of burning flesh from those scorched by the blaze.
Finally, the long wait for rain is over. The downpour gives the incubating python an opportunity to have her first drink of water in more than six weeks. Without leaving her eggs, she quenches her thirst on the moister collected on her own body.
Python vs Bushfire was filmed by Heiko Kiera aka Ojatro in 2016.
