If I'd filled these with Watermelon Candies this would have been the ultimate summer candy jar DIY. Oh well - next time...
As the NH says HELLO SUMMER and the SH says GoodBye (sad face southern hemisphere) its time to start thinking warm thoughts. Regardless of the temperature outside!
Materials:
Mason Jar
Round Sticker
Yellow Spray paint
Green cardstock
Green paint
Black Marker
Xacto knife
Ruler
Steps:
1. Take the jar and remove the lid. Place round sticker on the mason jar.
2. Cover with yellow spray paint. Once set, remove round sticker.
3.Take the lids and cover with green paint. Let it set
4. Take the green paper, fold about 1/2 inch on the bottom.
5. Using the xacto and ruler. Cut random triangles/spikes without cutting below the fold.
6. Under each triangle, snip a little bit below the folded line.
7. Fold the flaps facing the outside and roll the paper like a tube.
8. Place the inner lid on the mason jar and put the green paper spikes on top.
9. Place the outer ring, making sure the flaps are sealed and tucked underneath.
10. Curl the spikes by rolling inwards.
11. Use the black marker to draw arrows on the mason jar.
There's always an upside and there's always a downside but let's all agree to focus on the Sweeter Side!
