Fayrouz Karawya is an artist, writer, and researcher. She has been writing lyrics, composing, and singing since 2006. She has a bachelor's in medicine and a master's in sociology and anthropology from the American University in Cairo. She wrote her thesis about popular culture and politics in Egypt. Fayrouz has published articles in a variety of Egyptian newspapers and periodicals. Her first album "Barra Menny" was released in 2012.
