It came from the ocean, but it wasn't Godzilla... it was..... ???

With so many nuclear inspired monsters living in the sub-conscious of the Japanese culture, it is no wonder the police were called when this strange and creepy looking creature crawled out of the water in Japan a few days ago. The police came. They surrounded this possible off spring of Godzilla. They brought in the experts and it was studied... and finally identified as a Japanese giant salamander or Ōsanshōuo as it's called in Japanese.

The Japanese giant salamander grows up to almost 1.5 m (5 ft),[2] it is the second-largest salamander in the world, only being surpassed by the very similar and closely related Chinese giant salamander. It's an amphibian and comes up for air now and again. This one, must have been a victim of the "grass is greener" outside the water syndrome. Police say it was escorted back to the water and went home to his family without incident.
