Movie Brats & Show People: Glenny Brock at TEDxBirmingham 2014

What does a Wurlitzer organ and a bunch of old white guys have to do with holding on to our history? In this highly entertaining talk, Glenny Brock tells the story of how show people saved some of Birmingham's great landmarks, and what that means for us.

Journalist, poet, writer and joy champion, Glenny's current passion is the restoration and revival of the Lyric Theatre, a 100-year-old vaudeville theatre in Birmingham, Alabama.

TEDxBirmingham 2014 - "Rediscover the Magic" - was held on March 1, 2014 at UAB's Alys Stephens Center in Birmingham, Alabama. 15 speakers plus several artistic performers spread their ideas with cross-disciplinary mix of attendees from the Magic City, ranging from civic and business leaders to professionals, educators, technologists, and artists. TEDxBirmingham -- like all TEDx events -- is an independent, volunteer effort. It is not organized for political reasons, monetary reward, or personal gain.
