Join wildlife cameraman Julz Braatvedt as he arrives at South Luangwa National Park, Eastern Zambia, to film three packs of Wild Dogs in three very different territories through the dry season – the toughest time of the year.
Manzi pack is the largest pack in the park with 21 dogs, the park’s royal family. Living in the heart of South Luangwa by the river, their prime territory is rich in prey - but also in predators. Alpha female Weka’s pups are still being fed by regurgitation from the adults but now they must learn to feed on carcasses from kills with the rest of the pack, a key milestone in their development. But the pups are also in danger from a local pride of lions -- the wild dogs’ main predators -- which is roaming dangerously close to their home range.
