USF2000 driver Ayla Agren has dreamed of racing the Indy 500 since seeing Danica finish at the top of the pack back at home on the evening news in Norway. After learning the art of karting from her family, Ayla has decided to enter into the Mazda Road to Indy, a ladder series sponsored by Mazda that allows young drivers to rise through the ranks of open-wheel racing here in the U.S. and ultimately end up racing IndyCars.
Instead of F1, Ayla feels that IndyCar drivers have to have the complete package to compete not only on circuits, but everything from tight street circuits to high-speed ovals as well. One of the biggest shocks Ayla had to face was just how easy it is for 16 a year-old to get a driver’s license.
