Liquid light painting: Patrick Rochon at TEDxTrastevere

Patrick Rochon, a canadian painter that has been innovating and creating a unique style of light paintings, is now considered a master in the field. His work is regarded as visionary, intense and highly creative. He specializes in portraits, fashion, nudes and abstract light painting. It was while moving from NYC to Tokyo that Patrick realized that light paintings are the art pieces and photography is the support. He wrote the Light Painting Manifesto in 2011 declaring light painting as an art form. For Patrick the idea behind art piece is to allow the perfect moment to happen, where everything comes together, in synchronicity, creating this amazing moment of spontaneous magic. He believes that our bodies emit light and that light painting is an expression of this phenomenon.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event.
