Liuwa Plains National Park, a vast grassland in Southern Africa devastated by poaching during Angola’s civil war. Once teeming with wildlife, Liuwa became nearly lifeless, with only a lone lioness, Lady Liuwa, surviving the chaos. Today, peace has returned, and a few lions have been reintroduced alongside the hyenas that now dominate the plains. The film showcases the team’s efforts to monitor predators by fitting them with radio collars, a delicate process that provides vital data to track the recovery of Liuwa’s ecosystem. With predators returning, grazing herds are following, offering hope for this extraordinary wilderness.
