Maarten Frens is Dean of Erasmus University College and Prof of Systems Physiology at Erasmus MC. He combines those two jobs out of a passion for both science and teaching. Doing science makes no sense if you are not willing to teach, share your thoughts and results. Teaching benefits from being able to use first-hand scientific experience. Maartens research is aimed at motor control and learning, i.e. the way the brain guides our movements in an ever changing environment. His teaching spans from basic physiology to decision making.
