Except for four states (Wisconsin, Illinois, California and Michigan), cities don’t have to tell people where lead pipes are located. So most people who are at risk, have no idea. Under new draft rules just announced by the EPA, that could change. But for now, as long as you have a lead pipe in front of your home, you’re at risk of drinking lead-tainted water.
