Is China's economy finally moving along again? Industrial production rose last month by 6.2% compared to a year ago. Normally, nothing to get excited about. But given the economy's recent weak performance, this was something for Beijing to celebrate.
Chinese stocks rose to a six-week closing high today, boosted by upbeat data pointing to resilience in the world's second-largest economy. This as Washington and Beijing agreed to suspend a new round of tariffs this weekend, signalling a thaw in relations.
