Adam Johnston is a professor of physics at Weber State University where he teaches courses in general physics and science education. His research in science learning has led him to co-organize a national conference in science education reform, Science Education at the Crossroads, as well as local outreach programs such as Science in the Parks, hosted in Ogden city during the summer. Adam works closely with teaching majors at Weber State, as well as with practicing teachers locally and around the state through various programs and presentations. Before coming to Weber State, Adam completed a Ph.D. in science education and a M.S. in physics from the University of Utah, and a B.S. in physics from Lewis & Clark College in Portland, Oregon.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
