How to make a Jack-o-lantern for Halloween!

Happy Halloween! A Jack-o-lantern is a great Halloween tradition that people of all ages can enjoy creating to celebrate this spooky time of year. A jack-o-lantern is a special type of pumpkin that we create for Halloween. It is a pumpkin with a face carved into the front of it with a candle inside. In today’s lesson I will teach you all the steps you need to follow so that you can make your very own Jack-o-lantern. I will also teach you useful English vocabulary that you need for carving a jack-o-lantern.

The basic instructions in this lesson for carving your jack-o-lantern are: Gather your supplies (pumpkin, knives, bowl, marker, candle, matches), Cut the top off the pumpkin, Trim the top, Scoop out the pumpkin and seeds, Make sure the pumpkin is hollow, Draw a face on the pumpkin, Carve the face / Cut out the shapes you drew, Put a candle inside, Light the candle and Enjoy your Jack-o-lantern.

By the end of today’s English lesson you will have learned how to make a jack-o-lantern for Halloween.
