On February 4, 2022, U.S. Navy SEAL candidate Kyle Mullen died during the "Hell Week" segment of SEAL training, just hours after finishing his Basic Underwater Demolition class. The 24-year-old had completed his first phase of U.S. Navy SEAL training and wasn't actively training when he reported symptoms. He was rushed to the hospital along with another sailor who has yet to be identified. The cause of his death is still unknown.
