With a large catalog of characters available to draw from, Fox Studios has announced that they are producing their first X-MEN spinoff film THE NEW MUTANTS. The film will be written and directed by THE FAULT IN OUR STARS director Josh Boone and will most likely focus on a new set of young mutants training to use their powers. The movie will be produced by Lauren Shuler Donner and Simon Kinberg and while no official release date was announced, Fox had previously announced a 2018 release date for an unnamed X-MEN film which could be THE NEW MUTANTS.
