Justin Howard is the owner of The Black Box Improv Theater in Dayton. He regularly performs and teaches at his theater in Dayton and across the country. Justin always felt he was made for something different, as if he was a square peg and the only places that wanted him were round holes. When others would give up, Justin created a home for himself and others like him.

Improv may just seem like fun, but it may be one of the most life changing endeavors one can undertake. During his talk, Justin shares how improv allows him to reach a part of himself that is otherwise inaccessible. He teaches his students to say "yes" and see what comes of it, to listen to others not just waiting for their chance to speak, and to be honest and always work from the top of their intelligence. The greatest lesson he can hope to impart is this: Let go.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
