Extremely Rare Footage Of Hippo Eating Impala

Hippopotamus are generally grazers, herbivores, vegetarians, however they have sometimes been recorded scavenging from kills close to the water and occasionally killing and chewing on an animal that ventures too close to them. It is extremely rare to see such an instance though.
Here we came across a hippo chomping down on an impala kill that it had stolen from a crocodile. Other hippo were also trying to get some of the impala to eat. There were also a whole shoal of barbel (catfish) surrounding the hippo trying to get some scraps too.
