Chuck Waterfield has over 25 years experience in microfinance, starting with a practical field experience in Haiti and Bolivia at the beginning of the microfinance movement. He is the most recognized trainer in financial analysis and planning for the global industry, with more than 3,000 microfinance professionals having been trained in his courses. As a global expert in product pricing, he is CEO and Founder of MicroFinance Transparency, a non-profit established in 2008 dedicated to resolving the lack of transparent pricing in the microfinance industry. His work helps to promote ethical and responsible practice in the industry through promoting truth-in-lending practices and advocating an intentional balance between the prices charged and the profits generated on microloans. His goal is to help create a clear distinction between microfinance and the moneylenders that the industry was created to displace.

TEDxPhoenixville, the first TEDx event in the Philadelphia region, celebrates the creative, innovative and inspiring work happening right here and all around the world. Our objective is to present thought-provoking ideas via an annual day-long event featuring compelling speakers and performers.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
