A film crew follows a young cheetah mother and her 4 cubs, and explains the difficulties of nature filmmaking. The crew has been following the family since the cubs were born, and with only 1 out of 20 cheetah cubs surviving to adulthood, they know they may witness some sadness. As the drought in the region continues, the cheetah mother is growing weaker, and struggling. She must make a kill so her cubs can eat, and when she spots a gazelle who has just given birth, she eyes a target. The film crew watches on, feeling conflicted, as the mother cheetah captures the baby gazelle, and shows the cubs her killing technique.
