Hey guys, Bill here… A lot of you have been sending me requests to check out this Charlie Charlie game lately so I have been looking into it….
It officially goes by the name of Charlie Charlie Challenge- It reminds me of the Ouiji board game where people try to contact supernatural entities. In this case, it’s a spirit named “Charlie."
Videos of people playing this game on the internet have sprung up all over the web lately - but what many of you want to know from me is… Is it real? Or is it just another other worldly fake?
I don’t know how I would go about proving the whole Charlie Charlie thing real or not. It’s one of those things you can only examine on a case by case basis. And the best way for me to do that is record someone actually taking the challenge!
To make the test as unbiased as possible, it must be played by someone who hasn’t heard about it before - and as luck would have it, I was in the perfect place for just that.
It’s called Vernazza, a centuries old fishing village in Italy, that also makes wine and grows olives in the surrounding hillsides.
Today Vernazza is part of a national park known as Cinque Terre and attracts lots of tourists who like to relax by the ocean, and hike the beautiful trails.
My first mission is to verify that none of the locals heard about the Charlie Challenge….
Next, I got the pencils and paper I needed to play the game, and with the help of a local travel agent, I located someone who was willing to be my test subject.
His name is Andrea Bonomi. He’s is a poet and performer.
Adrea had just been involved in a car accident but was willing to give me an hour of his time to participate in my test.
To give the challenge it’s best chance to work, I decided I would let Andrea try 3 times to get a response from the otherworldly Charlie. Each attempt would be given 1 minute to succeed.
We did the Challenge three times with absolutely nothing happening. But then we did a fourth try and things started to happen.
Ok, so, I guess it’s my turn to deliver my opinion on all this so let’s review what happened.
1. Nothing occurred until the 4th round.
2. The Church bell rang as if it was a sign from Charlie, but the truth of the matter was it always rings at 8 O’clock and that is what time it was.
3. The pencil did move, but it rolled off the page when I leaned on the table. It didn’t point to yes or no.
Ok, so with all this in mind, I am concluding…that the Charlie Charlie challenge did not summon a ghost or any type of spirit in my test. Therefor, any claims that this test displayed magical powers are… FAKE.

WHAT'S THE TRUTH BEHIND ALL THIS....
According to an article written by Caitlin Dewey in the Washington Post, Charlie Charlie is an urban legend of sorts. It’s been played by kids in Spain under the name Game of Pencils for a very long time. It was always considered a harmless playground game until a news station in the Dominican Republic broadcast a very alarmist (and unintentionally funny) report about the “Satanic” game overtaking local schools. From there, it just went viral and people started to believe the hype.
And that my friends brings me to the question of the day. What do you think is better for you, sitting in the dark summoning the devil, or taking a nice hike on a sunny afternoon?
