Ann Dunn lives in Asheville, North Carolina. She is a full time faculty member, teaching courses in The Medieval and Renaissance World and Arts and Religion at the University of North Carolina at Asheville, where she was awarded Distinguished Teacher of the Year Award in Humanities. Dunn also serves as Artistic Director of The Asheville Ballet and owns its official studio, The Asheville Academy of Ballet and Contemporary Dance.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event.
