The Asiatic lion is the only lion to be found outside Africa. The lion of the Roman Coliseum, they once dominated regions from Asia to Europe. Today their last remaining habitat is in Gir National Park, a forest in northwest India. Unlike African lions, male and female Asiatic lions only come together to feed or mate. The rest of the time, it's the females who run the pride, while the males live solitary lives, manning their domains. The males often team up with their male siblings to help defend their land. When a rival male steps up to seize the throne, the aging male and his sidekick manage to make him rethink his decision.
