The German government has released new figures showing that the number of anti-Semitic crimes committed has risen by almost 10 percent over the past year. VIOLENT attacks are up by more than 60 percent, although only 62 incidents were recorded. The statistics are causing alarm in Jewish communities, and have prompted the Central Council of Jews in Germany to call for stronger action by police and politicians.
