On this episode of AMC Mail Bag (Sunday May 3rd 2015) we take the following viewer emails:
Josiah Ward writes: Hey everyone at AMC movie talk! So It feels like almost every day there is a new Avengers Movie Clip released on YouTube. I haven't been watching them, but it feels like a good chunk of the movie is already out, but all out of context. Who exactly makes this decision and does it annoy you as well?
Matthew Pratt writes: Greetings from the UK! Disney appear to be hitting all the right notes bringing back the Star Wars saga. Based on the current positive buzz and excitment for new the film in December, do you have faith in Disney reviving the Indiana Jones franchise? Thanks and I love the show.
Steve Kingsbury writes: Good Morning from Kansas John and Crew. My question is about box office results in regards to Age of Ultron. It will most definitely be #1 at least 2 weeks but in Week 3 in comes against Mad Max Fury Road and Week 4 Tomorrowland. Do you think these two blockbuster films will have a significant impact on the numbers it eventually pulls in and also is there a chance (assuming it is good) it remains #1 through its fourth week beating both of the others in there opening weekend? Thanks and keep on keeping on!
Meredith Ambling writes: Congratulation on all the success recently. You won best online show, crossed the 7 million monthly views mark, John got to run the Avengers press day, your interview with Paul Rudd and Michael Douglas (which I saw at the Avengers double feature by the way!). You guys are crushing it! Lots of youtube channels start and fail, so let me ask you what you think are the 3 key things to your success where so many others fail? Bring on the you-know-what!
Thomas Begeman writes: Hey AMC, i love the show. My question is about the Zombie movie genre and were you think it is and where do you think its going. There are many great zombie movies; Night of the Living Dead, Dawn of the Dead, Dawn of the Dead remake, 28 Days Later, and basically anything George Romero has done. Do you think we could see a return of these "indie style" Zombie movies instead of the big Hollywood CGI fest. Or do you think because of the big Hollywood movies that indie filmmakers are afraid of being seen as just "another zombie movie"? Schnepp please make a zombie movie!
Oliver Cooke writes: Hi AMC crew, I watch you every day and am loving phase 3! With the Tyson biopic on the way and Martin Scorsese attached to many other films like the Irishman, I was wondering about the Sinatra biopic. I'm a big Frank Sinatra fan and he has such an interesting story. I know a screenplay is apparently being written, however with this Tyson news, as excited as I am, I can't help but be disappointed that it seems a bit unrealistic now, Marty is 72 years young!
Amelia N writes: With the outstanding supporting cast of the live action Beauty and the Beast mostly being non-human characters, I was wondering how exactly they are going to be portrayed on-screen. Will they be voicing CGI objects, a combination of CGI and motion capture, or something else? Thanks for everything you do!
Amy H writes: Hey amc, ever since i started watching your channel i've been addicted! so my question is do critics sometimes tend too be non objective or be too harsh in a movie or cut a movie some slack because i've just seen age of ultron and i was surprised that it had a low rating on some websites though i think its AWESOME and the opposite to furious 7 which i thought was good but definetly not as good as AOU.
