Knights aren't sword-wielding, armor-clad warriors like they used to be. These days, a knighthood is more of a ceremonial honor, named by the British monarchy to recognize people who have made valuable service to the United Kingdom. It is, in fact, the highest honor given in the U.K., and it happens twice a year: New Year's and the queen's birthday.

Many of the people who receive knighthoods aren't particularly famous internationally, but sometimes a notable diplomat or musician is given the honor of a knighthood. The same goes for actors. Here are some of the actors you may have had no idea are knights.
