Stav Shaffir, Israel's youngest member of Knesset who led the social justice protests in 2011, tells the story of her journey from a tent on Rothschild boulevard in Tel Aviv to Israel's legislative body. In a public, moving talk she returns to the moment of disappointment during the million-man rally - the biggest ever protest Israel had ever known - when she realized that in order to create real change, she needed to make her way to the highest level of decision-making. Her story serves as an inspiration to dozens of young Israelis who have been told for years that the political system is corrupt and dirty, and who now realize that they don't have the privilege to give up.

Stav Shaffir is a social activist and the youngest member of the Israeli Parliament.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
