For the first time since the 1950s, shoppers in Manhattan can buy fresh produce and other food items delivered by sailboat on the Hudson River. The Vermont Sail Freight Project was conceived to bypass use of petroleum products to deliver food, and use a sailboat to transport goods from Vermont and Upstate New York to a Manhattan market.
