Why do birds cry?

If birds could talk guess what they would have to say. This video captures imageries that an animal lover would not condone. It’s a so called traditional pet shop along Jalan Kepong , Kuala Lumpur, that resembles a modern day “slave” trade. Here we are welcomed by the constant chirpings of many varieties of birds. But they are not perched on the tree branches or flying freely. In fact they are all caged up to be sold! We often say how free it is to be like a bird. But sadly this is not the case for these poor fellows. Some have been caged since birth, some while adults. Hence , being already domesticated some of them would not be able to survive in the open because they have lost their natural instincts. Most are bought for religious occasions and offerings and are released after prayers. But then they are unlikely to survive as freely as they are supposed to be. Unfortunately , this kind of trade will only end when the demand stops. In the meantime, we can only pray it will end soon.
