Liz Jamora writes: My question is, why does a studio care if a screenplay originated from a video game storyline? Audiences see sci-fi/action flicks everyday, not knowing where the story came from. I'm confused as to why the marketing would be different than any other movie, wouldn't the draw of the original fans only add to audience numbers in addition to any big name they attached to the project? I also don't understand why the approach to creating video game adaptation movies seem to be so different than any other sci-fi/action film (as you've already discussed in length, they haven't been particularly strong in the past).
