Though you might not know it today, ABBA was once unbelievably popular pretty much the whole world over. The group gained exposure overnight in a European songwriting competition, and their undeniably catchy and sparkling sound earned them legions of fans wherever their music was played. Before long, one member of ABBA even married into royalty, so esteemed was their work in the world of music. But then the broke up, and were famously stingy about appearing or performing together in the years to follow.
