The US spaceplane, the X-37B, is one of the coolest spacecrafts in history, and we're bound to see a lot more of it in the coming years. The main thing that makes the X-37B so useful is the fact that it can be reused. Gone are the days when a space shuttle would go to pieces in space, never to be used again. Today, the X-37B takes off vertically, then lands back on Earth later on horizontally, just like a regular plane. This controlled landing allows the plane to be reused, which, as you can imagine, decreases space exploration costs enormously. But that's not all there is to say about the 37B.
