The Netflix documentary series "Making a Murderer" was an instant hit when it arrived on the streaming service in December 2015. It seemed like just about everyone was watching, and as such, had their own opinions about the guilt or innocence of Steven Avery and Brendan Dassey, who were convicted for killing 25-year-old photographer Teresa Halbach.

While the series told much of the story, it did leave out a few details, and they're important enough that they could change the opinions of some viewers who may have thought they'd made up their minds about the case. Here are the things Netflix's "Making a Murderer" never told you.
