Bonanza was one of the biggest shows of the 60's and early 70's. Featuring a cast of stars who would go on to be beloved characters in later shows, the show was an early and successful experiment in color television programming. Bonanza wasn't an overnight success, and it had some budgetary limitations which may seem surprising in retrospect.
