Men and beards go together like carrots and peas. There's just something dashing about a full face of bushy whiskers. Think Gandalf the Grey of "The Lord of the Rings" fame or Dumbledore from "Harry Potter." Fictional characters aside, American history is chock-full of iconic bearded men. Take our 16th president, Abraham Lincoln. Would the lanky commander-in-chief hold the same near-mythical quality without his iconic face fuzz? While most bearded men set the razor aside to be stylish, there's one group that keeps their chins fuzzy for another reason altogether: the Amish. This is the real reason Amish men have beards.
