Just 30 minutes by ferry or 15 minutes by speedboat from the Port Klang jetty you will reach Pulau Ketam off the coast of Selangor. On the northeast of this island of just over a thousand residents is a small fishing enclave called Bagan Sungai Lima. This video takes you on a discovery trip to unveil the activities and attractions of this fishing village that was home for Chinese migrants from mainland China during the second world war. Today, the main activity of this village is still centred around fishing. In fact, for decades, the village has been the main source of dried shrimps for the onshore states. Today, the fishermen have floating fish farms and the village is slowly becoming a tourist site because of social media as well as word of mouth. You can witness the catching and drying of the shrimps, go feed the coastal eagles, walk or cycle around on the wooden pathways of this village that is built on stilts and snap some picturesque selfies at every corner. Best of all, enjoy some local  delicacies at the famous local bakery.
This is Bagan Sungai Lima. A traditional fishing village caught in the web of time.
