The lecture that is captured in this videorecording was presented on January 14, 2014 at Stanford University, co-sponsored by the Office of Diversity and Leadership at the School of Medicine and Stanford WISE Ventures. Dr. Moss-Racusin was the lead author on an important paper published in November 2013 in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences that was the first study to document gender biases on the part of science faculty against female students. The lecture presents a great deal of the background research for this study, results of the study itself, and also potential interventions to mitigate gender stereotypes and subtle biases.
