This talk was given at a local TEDx event, produced independently of the TED Conferences. We are often inundated with a deluge of information, worries and problems to solve -- so much so that the solutions we seek are seemingly impossible to find. This interlude explores the power of our minds and tests our perceptions. Sometimes all it takes is to turn the kaleidoscope of our mind just a fraction to see things in a different way, to harness our inner-strength and to reach into the recesses of our mind to clear the way for epiphany... and even prophecy.

Melissa is a serial entrepreneur who finds creating new ventures both addictive and tremendously fun. Her newest business venture brings her into the field of wellbeing as she has recently purchased Serendip Spa and its associated brands headquartered in the heart of Brussels. She is a Public Speaker for TEDx, United Nations, Keynote addresses, and Award Ceremonies throughout Europe and North America. In the past few years, she has appeared on US TV show Living Abroad, Bloomberg and Euronews. Among many topics she is passionate, the subject of perception is certainly one of them. She enjoys talking about life as a kaleidoscope and how we sometimes need to turn our mind to see situations differently. She will show us how to use our minds to relax, to clear our thoughts -- and to turn the kaleidoscope just a bit to find that fantastic idea or solution that is out there and sometimes is difficult to reach. Melissa enjoys the exploration of tapping into our spiritual side to find our inner-peace and inner-strength.

About TEDx, x = independently organized event In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
