Pickfair Estate existed before it was owned by Mary Pickford and Douglas Fairbanks, but it only attained its notoriety after they bought it...and experienced the paranormal events they went on to report. Mary Pickford was a famous actress before she moved into the estate, and one could surely have presumed that her fame would have insulated from many of life's problems. But her wealth and fame wouldn't protect her from intrusive experiences of ghosts, and the messages they brought.
