There is an educational gap that must be closed. Meta-analysis studies, along with a plethora of literature, discusses such a gap. I call this gap "acquiring but not achieving." That is to say that many students attain a seat to be educated, but do not graduate.
We must redirect our actions with respect to closing the gap. These actions should not be about nullifying current practices; nor should it be about accusatory posturing. Rather these actions should offer different perspectives on how to close the gap. To accomplish such a complex goal would require a cosmopolitan group make-up; truth-seeking objectives with philosophical underpinnings. My discussion will present an interesting perspective on how the gap could be closed.
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
