Manaweblife followed the crowd at a small stall in the Chinatown area  of KL's famous Petaling Street  and was curious to find out what the loud call for customers was all about. This video shows it all! Just one granny fully concentrating on her handy work with simple raw material and equipment. This stall has been here for over five decades and this grand lady is still at it with speed and precision. What she is selling is a traditional soft traditional Chinese mochi made of rice flour and now beautified with interesting colours. The mochi 'dough' is sliced into small pieces and mixed with grounded peanuts and sold in packets. You can choose to mix the colours, which seem to have different flavours. The taste is  soft, chewy and addictive! It attracts regular locals, tourist, children and the young and trendy. Indeed, it has gone beyond being just a traditional soft mochi and is now a favourite amongst the younger generation as an 'in-thing' to have in hand and chew on.
Surprisingly too it does not stick to your teeth, even if you have dentures !
Come over and taste this unique heritage Chinese mochi  at this colourful Chinatown street in KL  before this grand lady of soft candy calls it a day.
