- "Bird Box" is based on the book with the same name written by Josh Malerman and published in 2014. At the same time, there are several pretty important differences between the novel and the movie.
- Unfortunately, the book's version is much more horrid. The monsters leave that place alone after the people from the sanctuary intentionally blind themselves not to see the nightmarish beings.
- According to Nielsen, a global information, data, and measurement company, more than 26 million viewers in the U.S. watched "Bird Box" in the first week after it appeared on Netflix.
- It was Sandra Bullock's idea to spend a major part of filming in a real blindfold. The actress believed that this would add some realism to her acting.
