The EU recently adopted a new strategy on Central Asia, adapting the EU’s policy to new opportunities which have emerged in the region. The strategy aims at strengthening the relations between the EU and Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan and follows the first EU strategy for Central Asia from 2007.


It provides a new framework for EU engagement with the countries of Central Asia over the coming years, focusing on promoting resilience, prosperity, and regional cooperation in Central Asia.



To illustrate the new strategy, the Audiovisual Service of the European Commission has produced a series of video stockshots providing illustration footage on the Central Asian countries as well as EU-funded projects in the region.
