Musicians without Borders are using music to empower deaf people and build solidarity between the hearing and deaf communities of the West Bank, where around 5% of the population is deaf or hard of hearing.
We are working with families who are already suffering from long-standing discrimination and abuse. We are bringing youth together and providing space for shared experiences and promoting a better understanding of each other. The result of our work is more than raising awareness about the challenges faced by deaf people within their communities. Most importantly, the bonds among people coming together to make music become systems of support for Palestine's most vulnerable people.
The video-clip is created by a close cooperation between deaf youth and Palestinian refugees, and tells about the personal challenges of deaf youth.
So this work may continue long after Deaf Awareness Week ends, we hope you will watch and share the video and make a donation today. You will be helping us bring youth together and bring attention and support to Palestine's deaf community.
