Scientists Say There's a Cure for Cancer, It's Only a Year Away

Can cancer be cured? Imagine a life without diseases, where everyone is healthy throughout their lives. You think it’s a utopia? Then listen to this: Scientists have probably discovered a universal treatment for cancer. And there’s even more where that came from! How about curing drug abuse by erasing memory? Or treating diabetes with stem cells?
Scientists all over the world are thinking hard about how they could improve cancer statistics, and it seems one biotech company has come up with a possible solution. Dr. Ilan Morad, CEO of Accelerated Evolution Biotechnologies in Israel, says that they’re developing a complete cure for cancer. And the results are rather hopeful!

SUMMARY:
- About 18 million people are diagnosed with cancer every year, and only 5 out of 6 patients survive this condition.
- This new treatment has only been used in preclinical studies. That is, a single study in mice has proved its potential. It was a huge success, and all the treated mice showed that the new method worked.
- MuTaTo has only been tested on mice to date. It still has a long way to go before it can actually be called a treatment.
- Luckily, Danish scientists are developing a cure for type 1 diabetes. They’re using immature cells from the pancreas and transforming them into a type of cell that generates insulin. This way, diabetic patients won’t need injections anymore.
- Speaking of needles, there’s one more research project underway that has equal potential, though in a different area.
- Researchers believe that a more advanced technology will be able to “erase” the memories of drug addicts and make them forget all about their addiction.
- A no less noteworthy feat is about to be achieved by researchers at Stanford University. They’re going to explore the possibilities of a particle accelerator to treat tumors.
- Science has made great progress here as well! In 2018, Aimovig, a new preventive medication, was approved by the FDA. A single shot of Aimovig is able to cut your migraine’s duration by 2 and a half days per month.
